With a repertoire drawn from across Europe, Mooncoin's
diverse range of music encompasses many folk traditions as well as contemporary
influences. With an unusual line up of two fiddles, guitar, electric bass,
whistles, melodeon, and other assorted instruments, the 4-piece creates an
exciting and unique sound. Chris Schwabe’s beautiful vocals are always clear and
easy on the ear and her lovely whistle and melodeon have become so much a part
of the Mooncoin sound. Bev Nichols, the new guitarist, has a distinctive driving
style that forms the harmonic and rhythmic
foundation of the band. Mike Naldrett, the other new member of Mooncoin, has a
delightful lyrical fiddle style and a keen sense of musical harmony. Paul Keeler
plays fiddle, bouzouki and percussion with a tuneful, rhythmic style and brings
a diversity of musical influences to the band. So the new line-up promises to
retain the engaging and entertaining qualities that have become the hallmark of
Mooncoin’s performances over the last few years as well as, no doubt, a few
